Save editing and achievements
I wanted to make few more custom party members due to some problems I discovered during the game itself (like how Dragon bloodline don't work on Bloodrager for some reason) but since Im at Drezen and hiring somebody at level 8 would cost fortune, I wanted to simply add required gold via save edit (by literaly changing one line). I just wanted to know beforehand if it disable achievements in game or not.

I simply don't really want to replay nearly whole game.

There's a setting in Toybox that enables you to disable mods from disabling achievements (including itself). (I personally see no reason why using something like the Visual Appearances mod should disable achievements.)

I don't believe the game can detect manual save editing or using "trainers" (never used those, they usually don't run on my OS). Save editing and file editing makes my eyes glaze over, I'd rather use a mod.

Toybox mod require installing some third party stuff, which I dont want to use. Meanwhile save editing require just something to open archive and change single line. For me, it is much safer.

Yes, by definition, any mod is "third party," but then so are the programs called "trainers" which you use to edit those files.

You can do it manually. In some games, I read the explanations for it. Way too complicated.

That said, I also wish the process of installing UMM on my OS was less complicated, or that OG fully enabled in-game mod installation, too, but so it goes.
Just want to bump with quick info, just in case somebody would search for that as well - save editing, at least modifying amount of gold still enable achievements. I reached point of chosing mythic path at Drezen so it was prime spot for testing it. Made save just before it, changed amount of gold (again, by unzipping save file, extracting player file, changing one line, zip back) loaded and picked a path - game counted achievement in.

Given absurd costs of hiring custom characters, this is very positive discovery.
