Pathfinder games are long and will burn you out if you do this.
That's the mistake I made when playing Kingmaker - turn-based on hard. I was sick of that game by the end of it.
But I just finished my second game in WotR (both - in rtwp mode, 1 - with full party on normal, another - solo unfair (but with mc kineticist)) and I'm still full of energy.
That is a dirty puzzle though. If you mess it up from the initial state it gets annoying. But brute forcing it will eventually work. Sort of. Quicksave before you pick up the Banner. >.>
I got the puzzle within a minute after killing the Shadow Demon.
And I have spent another 5 hours already and still not out of the stupid tower. I just got to the command center. The pacing is just brutal.
I mean a wide number of factors can be put into play here from the game to the player my first run at drezen was TBM on Normal it took me a good 2-3 hours fully clearing everything, Where as my second time in RTC on the easiest setting I blew through it in 45 minutes like you.
They are not wrong. I started over shortly after this post, to be effective I needed to turn base every fight.
Still using some of the core mechanics of previous playstarts, but - ergh... have now 'minmaxed' some other things.
Uploading my victory over Minagho 1.
My first time on Drezen, without spoilers, here's what happened;
I did not know Nurah was a rat and took the sneak path. Beat the ambush thing pretty easy
Then I cleared the courtyards in what I assume is the reverse order, rested about a half dozen times total after clearing out all the 'segments' then pushing back through to trigger the siege mechanics and fights
My builds required me to consistently keep up wards/protective hexes then chants/cackles which means turn based for me.
So Drezen took me 2 days and still didn't crack the command tower
One for the Chapel stuff. One for Drezen itself. One for the inside of Drezen and following talking to NPCs and such.
So yeah, Drezen is one hell of an undertaking. Very time consuming and frustrating due to overpowered spellcasters, enemies spawning out of nowhere, random boss battles and of course, the boy at the top of Drezen that you cannot even kill.
