Is the Desolate Hovel Aeon distortion supposed to end immediately?

Title, pretty much. I guess it's given a little more exposition when you return to the rift in the middle of Drezen, but I was still a little confused at how it just. Loads an area. Gives you a short description and a chance to say one thing. Exits the area with zero fanfare. I just feel like usually you'd get at least one text box saying something like "the vision ended in a flash, go introspect in the mirror", I guess.
