buffs, placing area spells or repositioning
sucks to not be able to target the enemy but there is still stuff you can do
claiminglight Nov 7, 2021 @ 3:14pm
I don't think that's intentional. I often see untargetable enemies show up right along side targetable ones. I think this is just a probem with turn-based mode not being actually done.

^^ I don't need to waste a feat for that. BTW you cannot re-position neither. Half the time the enemies are just not flatfooted in round 1 flat footed is for the players.

Its intentional, not all enemies are untargetable, what is always untargetable is the one guy that will s... you over. like the arrogant aristocrat who will 1 shot someone every round he is alive, the lasher that will trip lock your whole group, the difiler that will cast mind fog and confusion to your whole group and so on....

what you mean you can't reposition, like moving or using teleport abilities/spells are also not possible?

well you can use teleport... it might provoke attacks of opportunity,is probably ok in normal and so on but on higher dcs you don't want squishies to get aoo, you can move but if your enemy is not flatfooted you either get attacked, while at it or move 10 ft with acrobatics (in which case they ll just 5 ft full attack anyway).... Also I usually reposition at the start of the fight. I know where they ll spawn so I go where I need to be. unless its a random encounter.

oh alright, just wanted to make sure that there is not a bug with moving and suprise round, would be so bad
Drake Nov 7, 2021 @ 4:42pm
It's a bug you should definitely be able to target it, even if it wouls impossible to actually attack it anyway since you are over 20ft and have point blank active. You should start with that.

Try to rotate the camera, I found that it helps sometimes to target stuff.

I presume those are enemies that just "spawned" in? Like the ghouls climbing up the walls? There seems to be something a bit wrong with the timing of when such enemies are actually considered to have entered the map in Turn-based mode. It might be related to the summoning bug: sometimes summons cast from a full-round take two rounds instead of one to actually "activate".

yes you are right, most of the time seems to be the case. It mostly fixes when any of them gets a turn, I suppose this i s a turn base specific bug.... for the not flatfooted opponents I realised all of them have foresight casted on them (or are barbarians). maybe I should just switch to real time at the start, put the group on hold and stop to turn base when the enemy starts moving... as a workaround.

Some of that is the split between real-time and turn based. The creatures yo ucan't target were still spawning in, and were not actually 'there' yet to be targeted. Basically, it started combat as soon as the first target was available, even though the others might be a second or two behind.

The biggest benefit is that you will be caught flat footed less often.

its very useful if you use tactical ( I do) usually I will put it on my buffers or my main charecter who can cast haste, I havent gone through the full game yet (thanks bugs) so it helps, also its really good for arue or wendigo who I make a slayer as
