Question About Scribing Dispel Magic Scrolls and Why Nenio Seemingly Cant?

My party is level 9 at this point, I have a level VII scribing kit, and multiple characters that know Dispel Magic, including Nenio my Scroll Savant. Despite this, the option to create a Dispel Magic scroll doesn't appear when trying to make scrolls while camping. Any idea why this would be? Is it an issue of having the right crafting materials? I can't find any specific information about what is needed to create Dispel Magic scrolls.

It's becasue they missed an entire feature of how spells and scrolls work, it's not the only spell. All spells that have selections, like summon monster, elementals, protection from alignment etc. don't appear. It's most likely because the spells don't have matching scrolls, the scrolls are matching the subspells (that you don't have in the book, you only have the masterspell), so you can't scribe them.

Since I was able to scribe a dispel scroll, I recommend you go through the default steps to check if your game is having a hiccup.

Which dispel, the point or the target ? with which character, using which class and which abilites ? are you using mods ? Because you can scribe a scroll if your char has the specific variation. Like for example Sosiel with his domain can cast protection from evil. So you can scribe protection from evil from that specific spell, but you can't scribe protection from alignment or any variation of that spell, because you don't have those variations in your spell book, you only have the master spell.

When you have an issue and start checking, make sure to make a general check to get faster to a possible solution:

■ Is the version you are playing the latest?

■ Are you using mods? If yes, do the issues still persist when you uninstall the mods?

■ Are the game files integrity still okay? After multiple patches there is no guarantee that some leftover files might lead to unknown issue which would usually be cured with a verification of game files.

■ Are you playing the game with combat in real time mode or turn based mode? If you are playing it in turn based mode, do the issues still persist when switching to real time mode?

■ Make sure to provide information which OS you are using. There are differences even between Windows versions which can lead to certain issues.

■ Keep your drivers up to date. You might be surprised how a corrupted file with video drivers, usb drivers, etc. could cause the game to crash. Before reinstalling the game after all files have been verified, you might want to make a clean reinstall your gfx card drivers first, as it turned out to be an uncommon yet not rare issue with crashes.

■ Send a bug report ingame by pressing ALT+B to open the reporting tool. Your save file and gaming system's specification will help the developers to identify special causes of rare issues.

Is that right? That's deeply stupid. I was trying to scribe pro v fire spells and was disappointed by this same problem.

That's also when I discovered, by the way, that you can make any scroll a CL1. I've been laser printing level 1 restoration scrolls. Not that it matters, as there's no XP or gold costs and you're certainly going to put skill points in Knowledge Religion with your main divine caster because there isn't much else... but really? That scroll shouldn't even be possible.

Try to scribe a summon monster II to IX or a protection from alignment spell, then come back. I'm telling you this is not a bug or anything, this is a missing feature, they didn't code the thing.

The answer is : Nenio can't use Abjuration school by default. It's her opposite school.

Nenio can. In pathfinder wizards opposition schools are not forbidden, they just use 2 slots instead of one. Only the thassilonian specialist has forbidden schools.

Since this is the top google result and there's some misinformation here, lemme just clarify that you absolutely cannot scribe any spells that have variants i.e. spells that have a drop-out window. Owlcat has never explained why that feature is missing. It's especially confusing considering you can still find/buy such scrolls.

No you didn't. The only way you possibly could have is if your game is modded.
