It is an adventure after all. So ~ enjoy your adventure! ^.^
The main benefit is that Irabeth will stay behind instead of going with the queen in act 5- since you're still officially the "commander", her duty is with you and she can stay behind for you with a clear conscience. The benefit for this is there's no risk of Irabeth dying in Iz.
But I also agree with this. Don't scramble to try and "fix" it or get the best outcome. I understand wanting to figure out how the game works behind the scenes, because I like to do that too, but it's better to be willing to roll with the flow than doing the incredibly hyper-specific things required to get the "best" outcome with everything.
On that note, if I used either chaotic option to let Minagho go free, is there anything significant that happens with her later on?
I know I'm late, but there is a side quest in chapter 4
