No matter what ending you get she will ascend.
The thing this game does more with ember and your character is making that ascension happen earlier.
I did several endings on that run to see differences, based on choices in/around the final fight.
Spoiler if you don't want to have to run through it all. Read at your own risk :P
Regardless of ending you take her spot as Demonic Overlord of the Midnight Isles (as a demon lord, or god). Giving her more free time to go to Elysium.
I wouldn’t say blocked more like preoccupied
There are hints that the only thing she needs to do is abandon her demonic aspect.
There also history of you interfering and pushing her toward that path by ember if you let it happen and also Arueshalae (an ascending succubus)
