Combat Casting
In d&d 3+ (and derived, like Pathfinder) tabletop RPG, Combat Casting always seems a first rate pick on pure casters, but I don't usually see it suggested in any build I've seen.
I'm still at Act 1, and I've not had many cases of my pure casters being attacked.
I'm guessing that barring closed spaces or the case of some rare ambush (invisible/slteathy enemy) you never end up with the issue?

The AI in this game and Kingmaker is fairly simplistic and enemies in general will only attack what's nearest. In addition, casters are by default considered to be defensively casting, and failure only means they're open to attacks of opportunity (instead of automatically failing the spell).

If you play in Turnbased mode it's even easier to avoid situations where you'd have to make a defensive casting roll due to 5-foot step and the fact your casting is done on that turn, even for "full round" spells.

The one class that might get some mileage out of the feat though, at least at early and mid levels, are non-Eldritch Archer Magi who are using the spell combat feature. I believe in later levels your Concentration is naturally high enough to mostly avoid AOO's at that point.
