Restoring the broken gold buckle

I have found the Piece of the Holy Symbol and so far (pre gray garrison) have all Magic Essences. Should I already be able to trigger a dialogue with the storyteller to initiate the quest, or should I just continue to collect and be able to trigger the dialogue later on?

If it is what I think, then it is best to have it as soon as possible.

Ok, any idea what I could do to advance the quest then? When I talk to the storyteller, there seems to be no option.

Edit: OK, behind the option to ask him to have a look at the items I am carrying, there is actually a related dialogue currently unavailable. I did not see it, since it was behind a grey option (I had clicked that dialogue at a time before getting the artifact)

You found it. And it's a general problem with dialogs: if there is some new dialog option behind an already used one, the used one stays grey.
Once in a while, I have to run through all my companions "Tell me about you" option because there can be something new here. It's rare, but it happens. Who knows how much content I miss because of this.

I never found the dialogue option and was not able to restore the buckle until late in Act III. There may be a path to do so which I missed (I had all the required materials).

you can gather all the necessary materials in kenabres (i think the last parts somewhere in grey garrison) and restore the buckle when you first get into the camp in the beginning of act 2 (when you have irabeth with you for inspection), before storyteller leaves

The finished item is *very* powerful (honestly think this is the best artifact from Storyteller, especially since you get it so early) for both casters and weapon users. You should finish it ASAP. Making all weapons good-aligned is an insane power spike and saves align weapon spell slots. +2 vs energy resistance also huge with so many demons around. Sadly its toggeable ability tends to switch off for no reason and you have to constantly reactivate it after switching zones etc.

if its what i think it is its also important to Galfrey, get bonus brownie points with her, if you give it to her after the grey garrison.

A known bug. I am uncertain but I think I have read with the latest beta patch notes that the issue has been resolved for the future.

Considering the rest of the game I regret all the times I have given it to the queen. It is too good for not to keep it.

DO NOT GIVE IT TO HER. It's way too powerful and Galfrey is a tiresome old hag anyway :D
(she gets even more tiresome and haggy when you resurrect her as Lich bwahahahaha)
