Pathfinder: Wrath of the Righteous - Enhanced Edition

Pathfinder: Wrath of the Righteous - Enhanced Edition

Finished the game - like it. Is Kingsmaker as good?

Are games on the same level as far as story goes?

I like both games. I prefer Kingmaker. It think it has a richer narrative. Lots of folk gripe about its kingdom management. You can put that on auto if its not your thing.

+1 This.
liked kingmakers story more
wotr story felt a bit rough and alright
kingmaker story was just beautiful
The overall story is different.

Kingmaker is more like The Hobbit - lets go for an adventure and stuff will happen.
Wrath is more LOTR like - We must stop the BBEG or bad stuff will happen, oh and btw only you, the chosen one can do it.

Which one you prefer is subjective. (I prefer KM).

What I think is better in Kingmaker are the dialogues, especially the allignment related ones. They are more nuanced and not so cartoonish (ie. LN char won't be cutting peoples hands for stolen bread).
The kingdom management is okay now. It was terrible on release.
I personally like WotR so much more than Kingmaker. I was not a fan of the pacing there. But then I am comparing original WotR to original KM. It might be different with the enhanced edition.

It’s pretty good. You might enjoy CotW mod for a comparable experience.

And the Evil Companions. I had not appreciated Jaethal, Kanerah, Bartholomew and Nok-Nok enough. Delightful! Not murderhobos! They have plans that go beyond: I'll be annoying and kill people.

yeah. Seriously! Better companions and companion arcs. MUCH MUCH MUCH BETTER

Ehhh... The only evil "murder-hobo" is Camellia, and even that plot is a little more nuisance than that. The others evil characters in this game aren't protrayed as murder-hobos, in my opinion.

I do agree that the companions are much better in Kingmaker, but that's because they are more tightly integrated into the plot. The companions in this game feel like they are "just there."

I shouldn't be surprised, because the single biggest complaint that I have about this game is that the protagonist is in the same boat -- there is no attempt made to explain why the protagonist has to join the crusade. I mean, yeah, he/she needs to battle his/her way out of the tunnels, but after that... Why not just leave? I mean, it would be a rather boring game if it provided that option, but given how badly outgunned you are at that point, and how depressing the situation looks, there's simply no attempt to give the protagonist a reason to stay.

In any case, put me in the "Prefer Kingmaker" camp. A word of warning, though -- Kingmaker has lots of timers running in the background, and not all of them are explicit. I like it, but I'm almost certainly in a very small minority on that subject.
At this point (have just finished Chapter one of WOTR) i find the writing in general, and the companions too, far worse than in Kingmaker. The overall design (encounters, levels) also doesn't seem much better.

I am willing to try Kingsmaker.
P.S
Is Bladurs Gate 3 any good?
Kingmaker is good, but more rigid.

Also, I find the characters are super SUPER boring in Kingmaker for the most part. The tone is also super high, nerdy fantasy.

I'm of the opposite opinion :)
