Going to miss Base Building....
from what i have seen the army system is VERY basic and looks VERY boring .... i realy hoped the put more effort in it ... and its important for peeps like me to BUILD a base and/or army .. and that you CAN SEE what you made ... like upgrading je castle in Dragon age ... you can see what you are doing .. its rewarding.

also they used all the same stuff from the first pathfinder. they did a CtrlC-V. so if you expect more .. dont ... its just the same with a other story. i realy liked kingmaker so i hope this game will be good.

may the RNG gods be with you!

You can build up garrisons and forts just like you could build villages in KM, on top of the still incomplete army management, which becomes more complex in act 3 once you can actually recruit more than the basics

There was no way we would get a complicated system after all of the Skyrim/Call of Duty/Battlefield/Doom babies cried and screamed that they had to think on the last game. I mean, think! Who would dare make them think?

It's always blew my mind that owlcat can stuff basically a whole game into an already huge CRPG. I always love RPGs have some kinds of managements, like kingmaker, Wasteland 3 and dragon age inquisition. Don't need to be very complicated. In fact the 'other' part of the game is my main reason for purchasing this game and kingmaker.

I was actually going to inquire on that. I hated the base building in the first game, it was so boring and annoying, the whole game was soooo slow paced compared to Baldur's Gate or Pillars of Eternity.

i give it to you for Baldurs Gate..but Pillars? the story in Pillars was sooooo slow builduing that i was about to fall asleep a few times...and then they suddenly rushley explained everything at the last bit of the game.
Also while i liked the kingdom management building, i can see why it isnt for anyone.

I enjoyed the kingdom building mechanics in Kingmaker but it did leave me wanting for more. Most of the buildings were expensive and didn't seem to offer much of a benefit.

I'm pretty glad to hear it's gone, I never did manage to beat P:KM and I think part of the reason was how bored of the kingdom management I got.

It's not gone though, it's currently streamlined due to crusades being fairly barebones, but it's definitely still there.

I think the kingdom management stuff in Kingmaker heavily detracted from subsequent playthroughs. It was fun the first time but it gets really tedious when you're just trying different builds or paths in the story because there's no variance on it, it's just doing the same thing all over again and having to wait out days to move on with the story.
It's the main culprit of me dropping playthroughs in the middle in KM.
