Please make it so you can choose companion class
please make changing class available OR at least sub class. When you first meet the character you should be given a choice of scrips like Pillars of eternity... i get so tired of having to download mods to change them.

It'll work for some characters but not to all of them. It makes no sense for Camellia to be anything but shaman and Seelah is iconic so no dice here as well. Wendu can be anything tho.:lunar2020thinkingtiger:

They all can be changed the issue is the level they are when you change them.

At worse with Camilla, Lann, wen, and sheela you lose one or two levels in their base class so they make good multi class choices but can never fully be another class.

Past that it’s harder with the higher level that party members start with the worse being the ranger and the dwarf (I forget the names) you get much later at almost level 10+.

That said You’re always gonna need mods because their class is heavily written into their personal story’s or backgrounds. They didn’t change this on kingmaker and I don’t see them changing it on this game

Still pathfinder has a class system that makes multiclassing very easy and you can find guides on the best class combinations.

All the companions are perfect, 3 of them have 1 level, which allows you to make anyone out of them, and pass on the hard without problems, given the mystical abilities, you can get the right things. The main thing is to pass hossila.

You can get the ranger at level 8 and the dwarf at level 9, I think that's the lowest end of it. Still quite late though, yeah.

I like what Pillars of Eternity Deadfire did for choosing companion classes, which is probably what the topic creator is referring to. NPC's had a limited choice of classes that fit their character which meant that some, like Aloth, HAD to be a certain class. For a game like Wrath with a metric ton of classes and archetypes it would be nice to have a similar system so more players could enjoy trying out the fruits of all the hard work Owlcat put into including those classes. If it was too immersion-breaking for their tastes they could make it an unlockable feature after a playthrough.

exactly they do not need a complete class change but you get a choice of class based on their narrative. Here your pretty stuck it seems.

Yep, I don’t have the Beta but from what I’ve seen is there any reason someone like Wendaug couldn’t alternatively be a rogue, ranger, or slayer instead of a plain fighter? Obviously Seelah would always be a Paladin but what about an
Oracle Ember, Warpriest Soldis (?) or School Savant Arcanist Nenio (thus taking advantage of the Kitsune CHA bonus)? They could even restrict archetypes that don’t fit too.

I would like an option to select new portraits for my companions. Had to use a mod for that one :(
