i say we need the summoner class. this would be reaaally unique and cool
With regards to 2e, a lot of this game is actually taking cues from 2e while still basing itself mainly in 1e, so that's kind of a "yeah, but..." sort of answer.
Unfortunately this is true, they've said they didn't think a gunslinger would suit the tone of this game.
That said, you should look up Numeria, which is a nation that actually neighbors the one this game takes place in. Owlcat may not want to put gunslingers in a Crusade-based story, but Paizo clearly doesn't agree with the idea that guns just don't belong in high fantasy.
Hell, even not going the full Sci Fi route of Numeria, Alkenstar also exists. In tabletop, it's not just alchemists that come from there.
special mention to the hybrif archetype hexenhammer (inquisitor/witch)
how many time does it take to become a coder? :D i really hope they open the game to steam workshop like darkest dungeon (was a huge success with many fan creations and community project).
if they said it, i am all for it and agree. i rather have the pathfinder summoner class ,now that would be a unique one with interesting mechanics.
Still sad that aside from POE no CRPG has guns, it's so satisfying to shoot some underdeveloped barbarian with a good musket. The best part of the last samurai is the end where these idiots get massacred using good western engineering. But whatever it's their game and their vison,
i find it funny that you dont see the irony, saying owlcat is wrong and that guns aren'T any different and then give a text provingt WHY owlcat is right and they are real different. xD
Pathfinder also has Cowboy-era guns and SPACE LASERS, so there's that.
And I mean it also has dragons, vampires, liches, demons, angels, and ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ Call of Cthulhu aliens, so you'd think that worrying about realism and historical accuracy wouldn't be a major problem.
Ehh, gotta disagree with you there, chief. A main part of the reason why I like guns in fantasy is less using them to wipe out foreigners and "underdeveloped" cultures and more to do with using them to give ordinary soldiers a half a fighting chance against wizards and dragons and ♥♥♥♥.
@Joeking141- I would love to see the Brawler. In a tabletop game, I forced myself to step out of my comfort zone and tried playing one. I 100% absolutely loved it. But since a major mechanic of that class is grappling, pinning, etc. it would be next to impossible to implement (at least not without a major recoding and lots of new animations).
I think Summoners and Swashbucklers along with a few of the other hybrid classes (not to keen on the Investigators CRPG mechanic-wise).
All that said, I was very surprised we got Witches (been avoiding a lot of spoilers) but I have a feeling they will be extremely different that table-top, (no fly or ranged hair-attack, etc).
I was also very surprised about the mythic classes. Not sure how they are going to make that work. I just hope it not more of a gimmick and actually holds to the TT rules (as well as can be expected).
