Damage is the base weapon damage, damage when equipped is the weapon's damage while also including any items, feats, class features, etc. that your character might have to increase damage.

damage is just the damage that the weapon does, e.g. a longsword does a d8, so 1-8 damage.

Damage when equipped is how much it will do when the selected character is weilding it. so if you have a character with +3 strength the same longswords damage when equipped is d8+3, 4-12 damage.

Note: this is inaccurate on non-medium creatures. weapons don't properly display their damage when equipped until they ARE equipped. If you have a small character a longsword they have equipped will say it'll do 1-6 damage while one in the party inventory will say it'll do 1-8.
