What are some good methods of acquiring lead blades?
In my current game I'm playing as a human rowdy rogue. In order to gain access to lead blades I took a level of cleric of Torag (Ecclesitheurge so I can cast it multiple times) . Then I found that Ecclesitheurges can't wear armour without losing their spellcasting abilities. That kind of worries me so I'm thinking of respeccing. I don't want to lose access to Lead Blades though - during the defence of the tavern I had it and enlarge person running and was doing 50-100 points of damage per hit most of the time (since I have cleaving finish that usually resulted in two dead enemies per turn).

But getting access to that spell otherwise seems to be tricky. I'd have to take 4-5 levels in ranger to get access to it. I could choose Ironsoul Oread as a race to get it once per day, but that cuts my movement speed down which I'm not keen on either. I suppose casting it from a scroll might be an option, but I assume I'd need to have someone who could scribe the spell first?

Is there any other good method of gaining access to lead blades?

you could try crafting it as a scroll if possible

Lead blades is a 1st-level ranger spell, which means it's a 1st-level spell for hunters. Just take a dip into hunter, perhaps the Forester archetype so you don't have a super-weak animal companion.

Thanks. I'll check that out.

Wow, that is a cool idea for many melee characters.

So I took some levels in forester hunter, but it seems like the animal focus ability doesn't work as expected? I thought it would be permanently activated for my character, but it seems like it only works for a certain amount of time if I "apply" it to myself. Is that correct?

If you go hunter first, then you won't have a 'super weak animal companion'.

I took the forester subclass of hunter for my first three levels. That subclass doesn't get an animal companion but you are supposed to be able to apply their stat boost to yourself instead. I can set a boost to use, but even though the icon appears in my stats screen it doesn't actually do anything. If I use the ability which would normally move the boost from my companion to me it works, but that seems to be time limited.

Going oread is probably the best option. you get 1 minute of lead blade/lvl. There's plenty of spells that can increase your movement speed as well. This way you don't have to dip classes just for one ability.
