I always take spell penetration first to my casters.
I did beat it, but it took a few tries. I'd reccomend throwing something down to stop its mobility (I used web) otherwise it just crushes your party standing on that bridge by running through them all.
I don't remember the rewards being worth the trouble. Much like that Water Elemental.
The normal boss fight was fun for me. I had Wendy with me also specced for double throwing axes and they both faced off throwing so many at each other it looked like they were doing a circus juggling act. Catching their axes and throwing them back. It was kinda great.
But this one is 27 and impossible.
Oh and there's ghosts there level 25 or so, manageable if they are solo but once specific ghost can summon shirocco (damage+stun tornado) and stun the whole group infinitely, that one's also impossible, particularly because it's a scripted fight, pops up and you are immediately in combat with no preparation.
Not sure what the intent is with this grossly varying difficulty. Boss was totally fine, managed to kill Lann 2 times but that was it. 2 strong animal companions + Seelah had him cornered, also Ancestral summons. The drake was actually much harder because very high AC and saves, fortunately all it could do was ice (protection element = 0 damage) and claw attacks.
But the treant and shirocco ghost...? No way José. Not at level 10 :(
Those stupid trees are nothing, if you get a head a little you will see.
It isn't redicoulous it's an optional fight , you can just skip it , just because a map has enemies doesn't mean you have to kill everything on it !!
Every tiny bits of EXP is a step closer to hit those 50+ AC.
For example, Playful Darkness reminded me that I needed to get Greater Dispel ASAP, that fight would have been a lot easier had I dispelled his buffs.Everything has a counter. One big thing to remember is that a creature full attacking typically cant move. (Unless it has pounce.) So, at higher levels, you COULD technically tie a powerful creature immobile by just drowning it in summons.
However, that doesnt work againts the tree because it just tramples every round. See how the game forces you to change stuff up?
