No. It is not that bad. A matter of personal preference.
Although Aeon has a lot of "Dialog" effects, idk about Demon.
And Demonic Charge sounds so simple on its face, but for a melee-oriented character it might be one of my favorite abilities. I've cheezed an entire boss fight just by doing hit-and-run Demon Charge. It's fantastic.
And while Aeon is really weak starting out, it gets ridiculously good. Aeon's Bane is the highlight. Dispelling every single buff from an enemy with a single spell will never not be good. And even the gazes get useful once you get infinite uses of them- the DC-boosting one is a personal favorite of my Aeon, because I like spamming Dismissal and Banishment on the mook demons.
Between the aspect of the schir, mythic charge and the boot that add atlethic ranks to dmg on charge you one round anything in the game including bosses.
