Triceratops Statue / Bismuth
I had a difficult ambush and Sosiel used the statue. Now Bismuth is always in the party without summoning, even after resting and after entering / leaving Drezen. (I've not tried removing Sosiel & the statue from the party)

Is this the same for everyone else?

To summon Bismuth you must put the triceratops figurine on a character's belt (ie, in one of the five the potion/item slots) and then activate the triceratops icon that then appears in that character's belt actions.

Once you have done that, Bismuth will remain in your party until the figurine is removed from the belt of the character that activated it.

In other words, if you want Bismuth to leave your party, just unequip the figurine.

After doing so you can re-equip the figurine, either for the same character or a different one. You won't be able to activate the figurine twice in one day, so keep that in mind when deciding to unequip it; you will have to rest before you can bring Bismuth back.

One other thought: Because of its very high strength, having Bismuth in your party dramatically increases your carrying capacity. So even if you don't care to use Bismuth actively, you may find it useful for the sake of being able to loot a lot of treasure and still be able to travel.

Yes. The totem kinda gives you a permanent companion pet. You can even equip it with gear.

It will vanish in a few specific instances but yeah generally it's permanent. It'll even allow you to pick the mythical beast ability in the mythic rank up for that character.

I do not know which statue the other refers, but I know of the statue as an summoning item which can cast a Bismuth for 24 hours, provided you keep the statue in the inventory.

Bismuth lasts forever. It's not a traditional summon.
Want to get rid of it? Remove the statue.

Thanks everyone, I just hit L11 and it's now huge :D Think I'll keep it in the party.

The biggest downside (as far as I am aware, be happy to be corrected) is that you can't take Boon Companion to keep it at your level and it also seems to interact weirdly with classes that come with animal companions.

I have actually stopped using Bismuth as I was annoyed that everytime he is "unsummoned" it unequipped him. Just irritated me, so I sold it :P

It's essentially an item that gives the character it is equipped to a Triceratops animal companion, though you don't get to manually level it. I'd always use it, if nothing else, it gives you extra carrying capacity. (A lot, too, since it has fairly high Str.)

The downside is that you then have a ridiculous looking dinosaur running around on your screen the entire time. You want to maximize your gameplan? Well buckle up, we're Dino Riders now.

Next game we'll get an equippable giant pet snail named "Jeff", that constantly speaks in a high squeaky voice, and supplies hilarious fourth wall breaking meta-commentary. But he gives you a lot of bonuses, so you're at a disadvantage if you don't use him. Don't worry, you'll come to love Jeff eventually.

I fail to see how that is a downside. My Lich certainly doesn't mind her Fighter Graveguard riding into battle on a triceratops. Or Ciar's Horse handling lockpicking and trap disarming duties.

The description on statue explained why they made a summonable dinosaur, seemed fine lore wise to me.
Disclaimer: I have no pathfinder lore experience except Kingmaker PC game.
