Seems random if you describe it like that. On my first playthrough it took a week or so for him to appear. On my second playthrough two weeks. On my current playthrough he was the very first encounter once I set towards Wintersun.
Maybe I should just run off to Wintersun with my fingers crossed :(
Thank you for the quick response tho ! I hope some people have others experiences with it.
I had an encounter tho, with some cultists of Baphomet beating to death crusaders in the area. Do you remember what the fight was about when you found him ?
That is the first encounter which is basically related to Wolfi. The next one after should be you seeing him. I am not sure if its actually treated like a normal random encounter. It just happened to be in the area south of Drezen by my memory.
1. seeing cultists killing crusaders - they mention the Moon of Abyss somewhat
2. seeing the same cultists in their hideout - Wolfi as their boss. No more spoilers unless you want them.
you can talk your way out, though.
Oh ! Okay ! So I should definitly go again on the roads after that encounter and trigger the second one !
Fingers crossed, thank you very much for your quick response !
I wish you good luck! Hopefully you get to find him right away without having to wait too long.
Last but not least: some quests and events seems to progress / trigger differently, depending on how often you camp. Underlining "camping" here, since some companion stuff seem only to progress when doing so. Resting on world map only or in safe haven does not have the same effect on those events and quests.
Hi ! So I am currently tring what you said... but if I go West, I encounter the dragon.
Twice.
And my party can't survive two encounters :(
Gosh, yeah you're right about camping :(
It's quite annoying to be honest. Like, why resting on the map doesn't count ? It's quite a shame... hope it's not about that !
As said: he was my first find before I even reached Wintersun. I can only imagine having one with high stealth skill helps. Negating all other batlle encounters to enhance the chances for event encounters. You can also rest after the dragon attack. It only happens twice, thankfully.
Oh, yeah that can happen. Woljif encounter 2 should be somewhere on the road to the Temple of the Good Hunt (I've just checked the map). Not sure if dragon is staple there or is it randomized, so I would try reload couple times to check. Also: maybe the dragon would/wouldn't show up so early depending on having Greybor with you (I would try that as well)?
So... after a bath, curtosy of Daeran, I'll go back on the roads and try to go from west to east on the road leading to the Temple of the Good Hunt I guess ! No need to fight that dragon twice if it's supposed to be around there. As for Greybor, I'm not taking him with me ATM, so no, the encounters with that creepy dragon happens everytime you get too close from him/her/it.
Never happened to me, but maybe I just get him to fast for that (it's the first thing I tend to do in act 3).
I'm sorry kodama, your trick didin't work for me :( tried a lot, but never worked.
I wend south, after the Chapel, triggered encounter 1.
Went back to the city.
Then again south, heading towards Wintersun, and voilà !
(I'm not crying, you are.)
Thanks a lot for all your responses guys, you're the best !
N.B. : quick question tho, I had another post open about the impact of the mythic path on the lore. Since you're all here, maybe you can give me an answer. I chose Azata, discovered my dragon companion and ... that I could raise forests and lake. I mean, that's kinda huge. Does the other mythic paths can do that too ? (I know they don't have dragons, but forests and all ?)
Now I'm worried it can fail:D. Glad that things worked out for you though.
Regarding your question, besides Azata I have personal expierience only with Trickster and that's the way of uber troll. You literally can bend reality to your whims. Like telling someone he's a plant and puff! he becomes a plant. Or decide that local drunkard is in fact the King of Sarkosis. Or tell some poor compromised by cultists cleric that all is good and well, he just has to swear you into their little secret club and his curse won't trigger for helping you because you'll be part of the lot. So he does and he lives. And so on and so on. And ultimately, you can have very different plan for the Worldwound than the rest of crusaders, one that would put somewhat-mommy dearest on shame.
From what I've read though True Aeon (LN) looks most interesting story wise with all that altering timeline stuff.
