Xanthir Vang fight advice
Kinda Spoilers: I'm stuck on the Xanthir Vang fight. Specifically the part where he turns into locust swarms. I unload every AOE fire spell I can before getting engulfed and pretty much stun locked. Then the locusts end up healing up and I eventually run out of spells or die. My Rogue was throwing Alchemist fire at them but that does 0 damage every time. I'd go level up and come back, but there doesn't seem like there is much else for me to do other than grinding random encounters. I'm only on Daring difficulty.
Edit: As requested, my main char is a Trickster Rogue, and I've got Seelah, Sosiel, Ember, Lann, and Nenio.

Selective sirocco is your friend.

u could also get the salamander ring for dearan, so he gets some charges of selective fireball
and others for free. if u have resist energy communal fire, u can also use the basic fireball spell.
the ring - if u dont have it already - just a few more spells to cast without having to grind

Be an Angel? Lol.

A little more info about what you've got in your group would probably help people give you better advice. A general idea, at least.

But like someone already said, Daeran/Ember can flood the area with fire spells. Going turn based might help you target things more carefully and let you use metamagic with them without waiting 6 seconds in real time.

If you have troubles fighting him, better not tell him once he is down after the fight what tinkerbell demon plans for him.

1: Try turn-based. Because of the way swarms work, it means they will never really do any damage as long as you have your characters walk out of any areas swarms are in on their turn.
2: Acid Flasks should do a little damage, in addition to the usual AOE spells.

Hmm I thought that fight was ridiculously easy, guess its cuz I realised that those locusts can stun only just now from your post. Meaning, I had some buff that made my chars immune to their stuns... No idea which one was it, but it is probably poison immunity or some such. I know it was not immunity to straight up stun or paralyzed, cuz I don't have those even much later in game.

Turn based mode. This is the first time I've used it and it made all the difference! Thank you!

Update: I took @TofuFox 's advice. Going turn based made a huge difference here. No one got stunned and I was able to wear the swarms down much more efficiently. Thanks everyone!
