Midnight Isles, Rest and Abyssal Corruption

Ok so spoilers ahead ofc. Im in Midnight Isles, killed Minagho, just barely (and what a bugged out mess of a fight that was, navigation was impossible and everyone just kept getting stuck at the door) and everyone except my MC died, so now only way to continue would be to rest right? but the only place to rest is the seedy tavern from what i can tell, and even that doesnt really rest my party, just triggers an ambush event, one after another, and yet it grows my abyssal corruption level to a point I cant even cast anything anymore with my Dark Elementalist. What the ♥♥♥♥ were the devs thinking with this one? Any ideas or should i just quit? or use a cheat?

i deal with them by getting out of turn mode and forcing all the characters to get out of the door

Yeah but that still raises my abyssal corruption to a level where my MC cant cast anything anymore, blue fire composite blast now costs 2 burn instead of the 0 before the corruption, and my burn cap is at 3 due to class restriction. And shes literally the only sureway to kill bosses and anything with huge AC. Its so dumb that after a long ass dungeon with lots of tough fights, that made you rest quite a bit, growing your corruption level, even with one cleansing relic in the dungeon it was still impossible to go thru it without having the corruption creep up bad. And then they throw you into a wholly new place without any chance of getting rid of it. ♥♥♥♥ this game.

strange. after you get to the abyss, you check out the nexus and your companions make camp there and herald sanctifies the place so you wont get corrupted
didnt that happen with you? or you just went to the abyss without clearing the entire nexus?

Yeah no idea really... ill try to roll back some saves see if it fixes, sucks to have to redo the Minagho fight since she was so nasty... And playing as a Lich, with Staunton as a companion, it was a huge missed opportunity to not have him have dialogue with her before i finished her off... one of the main reasons ive been keeping him around... such a huge disappointment

He does that the moment you first leave to Alushinyrra. Just double back and you can rest just fine there.

The herald has an option (not sure if based on path) that lets you heal without resting. I used this option the whole time and never dealt with ambushes. If you have to rest, use the Nexus campfire in the cave by clicking on it; don't set a random campfire just anywhere in Nexus.

For clarification: when you rest at the Nexus after your companions set camp there, your Abyssal corruption influence is now decreasing back to zero?

Make sure to rest at the campfire in the Nexus (in the cave), it should reset corruption.
