Can you also explain Demoralize to me?
Guess I am still learning the mechanics/ruleset behind pathfinder/DnD in general.

So take demoralize for example. ON my main character, a scaled monk, level 9. I am reading the description of the ability. It says difficulty class of 18. Then reading through the description, it says the target has to pass a check of 10 + Hit Dice + Wisdom modifier.

So how do the rolls work? I assume, I roll 1d20, add my persuasion modifier and whatever else modifier then compare against the targets check (10 + Hit Dice + Wisdom modifier). But where does the DC of 18 come in?

Its just a fluke, some general code got applied to display DC there. Actual DC will be just as you described. You can test it out on your teammates.
