[Spoilers][Act5] I did it. Finally
Regill.
I finally lost my patience and killed the midget after the 'trial' which was supposed to strengthen Hellknight order's faith in me. I was already done with this guy after the first 'test' and wondered why there isn't an option to kill him then, but it was worth waiting. He was not a companion. He was a creep who kept breathing on my neck.

Now i imagine Regil riding in battle on Seelah's shoulders. Great.

My Angel understood his reasons, given a century of a stalled crusade, stranger comes in and suddenly everything turns around, then it turns out the source of my powers isn't what they thought...
My Lich, on the other hand, banished the little creep for questioning my power.
(and to thin out the numbers of companions getting passive xp off me while sitting in Drezen...probably just gonna have Ember & Daeran fighting at Threshold at this rate...though i also killed Galfrey to make her my undead thrall as a reward for her failures...so, that fight's not lookin' so good for my side)
Do you actually have to fight the whole hellknight outpost when you do that?

No, since he is already stripped of his title by that point.

My lawful evil character is best buddies with Regill.

He completely approved of my choice to become a Devil, and I approved of basically every decision he made for the greater good.

That's a good roleplay and I wish I could have been like you, but this Gnome... I hate him genuinely from the bottom of my heart😔

Curious.
I didnt mind.
Regill actions where entirely understandable.
And i give the succubus compliments too.
She offered me troops.
Demons troops but still troops.
That convinced me to indulge her request.

Regill is literally the only level headed intelligent party member you have.

Just put him down quick . :)
Scepticals about MC powers was allready annoying.
Dont trust the powers of an angel ? Well too bad now go chew on some grass. I guess taken drezen and act 1 isnt good enough.
Have better things to do than Try to convince an annoying gnome of my powers.

Just punt him :)

I guess being in the same alignment could make him a more likable character

It is my first playthrough and I was hoping he might become softer after everything I've done, but he never changed.

It's not the reasons he gives I don't agree with, but his creepy actions and schemes that I cant't put up with.
To be more specific, during the 'test' quest, he set everything up to make me believe I'm supposed to talk with the succubus and get more information out of her, but when I chose the option to talk in more details, I'm not even given further dialogue to comfirm my intentions. He outright assumes I'm not worthy. In other words, he put me in a possibly life threatning situation and couldn't even figure out my real intentions.
How is that supposed to help the crusade? It only satisfied his twisted way of treating other people.

Only if you start the conversation with "who do you think you are?" and follow up with "I choose the extreme measures".

Congratulation on killing someone who sacrificed his life and career for you. I wonder what your other opinions in life are.
