Well finally tried Shield Bash hero in my 3rd last playthrough and it came out as 1 of the strongest units i tried lol. Not a tank, and didn't buff him fully as a tank, though he can handly some punches just fine. But he really shines in attack - does ~8 attacks per round, where 1 attack is in fact 2-3 hits somehow (didn't dive into mechanics). And if he Crits he attacks more, particularly because of a weapon.

I went with pure Slayer Deliverer, that's a respec'ed companion (or merc), not a mc even. Not min-maxed at all. Can be optimized to go much better and most likely with a better weapon choice. But i'm very pleased with a result, thought he will be the weakest fighter/hitter, and he became the most efficient and reliable one.

Yup, takes a while to get going, but Shield Bashing can get pretty crazy. Bashing Finish is nuts with a high crit weapon in the main hand.
