How to remove Baleful Polymorph of DR 38
A certain goat headed jerk cast Baleful Polymorph on Nenio during our fight in the Colyphyr mines. I won the fight but can't figure out how to turn Nenio back.

I'm a level 17 Aeon Overwhelming mage, so dispelling seems like it should be my core competency. But when I cast "Dispel" it says I fail to beat the DR of 63 and my modifier is only +17. For some reason it's better for "Remove Curse," where I only have to beat a DR of 38. But 38 - 17 is still 21, so I don't understand how I can remove this curse. Do I have to do the whole fight over again, or is there a trick to removing it I'm not seeing?
My aeon powers like "Rectify State" just seemed to give me the same DR as Dispel and fail. Greater Restore did nothing.

Edit: And as a last resort kill it and raise it...

Ah yes very clever. Casting my own Baleful Polymorph on Nenio lowered the Remove Curse DR to 30. Then I just had to cast "Remove Curse" 6 times and now she's back. Thanks!

It's also possible to Kitsune shift out of baleful form if she needs to be the one to cast. It won't remove the curse, but it will suppress it as long as she's in human form.

I cast Blade Barrier on them then resurrected them after they die.

You can do that without a spell slot - just have your fighter charge Nenio a couple of times.

That reminds me how it happened to me yesterday with my player character. Yeah, you cannot kill them without consequences. After failing four scrolls and five potions of remove curse, I had to stay as doggie for about an hour until a level up got someone in my party "Remove Curse". *wan* *wan*

Resting helped for me

Just posting in case other people might find this thread and need help: Seelah's treat affliction might help, several companions can learn remove curse which might help, you might go to a priest for help and if all else fails you can just enable "rest removes all negative effects" and sleeping a bit fixes it.

Glad you got it sorted though!

So I know the discussion started for an Aeon character but for any Azatas reading this, check your dragon! At this point Aivu should be level 28 and she has remove curse, which gives the roll a 50-50 chance!

I have that setting enabled, and it doesn't help at all
