Pretty much. The RNG in WOTR can provide a very similar experience. You can critical miss a thrash mob followed by a max damage crit on the boss the very next turn.
Or maybe he's just cheating. The world will never know.
You have a few valid points,
"A pathfinder/dnd crpg comes out once every blue moon, and your'e gonna pass"
Yes. I won't play a game where im cheated. Unlike a lot of the others here that seem to be in abusive relationships with this game, i wont stand here with a black eye and make excuses for it. nor will i tolerate it. They want be a devs punching bag, thats there busness, like i said its garbage and not worthy of my time.
the fact that so few of these games come out just makes it worse, see the rooms reaction when blizzard announced diabo mobile. You make something people love, then purposely make it crap, it pisses people off.
As far as being "a rule monger"
Unless you hate the system, you would probably like me just fine. You always know what to expect, as i always follow the rules. Unlike some (insert nasty slur for cheaters here) i won't fudge roles agenced you.
"Core diff is not really cheating though is it?"
The cheating in this game is rampant and obvious. And is certainly not "core diff" if they had stuck to the core rules, this thread wouldn't exist. But then ive stoped expecting victims to understand, and your wasteing time makeing excuses for them to me.
I think I've already proven that you don't actually follow the rules as they are written. There are lot of rules on:
- Changing monster stats;
- Applying templates;
- Advancing monsters;
- Adjusting difficulty for different party sizes and power levels.
There are even rules for creating monsters yourself.
And on top of this is the rule 0, which literally puts fun above the rules.
Using only the part of rules that you like is fine, but don't force your beliefs about the perfect system onto everyone. I have a reason to believe you don't even know the system that well.
If you had access to beta, this thread wouldn't exist. Thus, you coudn't have played on the core difficulty since it only exists in WotR, not the first game.
Actually you proved nothing. And tryed to use lame exceptions to make your excuses, but then you know that, dont you victim. Run along now, your master is calling.
Well, my luck is crap, so i never except the rng to be good, that dint bother me, the issue is, if you had looked at the numbers the rng system wasnt bad, the game was outright cheating. And ya, from the sound of it the next is more of the same. If you have the same concerns i do, don't bother, or wait a bit to see reviews, and ask around. But as it stands its just another dumpster fire.
It wont matter. The game will just pump up the enemys to beat you. Think, your a god, and evry squirrel you meet can eat yur soul. I min maxed to, and it dint matter, like i was saying the game would just cheat.
Only one chapter left, and it's a breeze. Haven't even optimized that much, no multiclass or anything.
