can a 2 handed exotic weapon be a finesse weapon?
I saw the little gnome fighter specializes in the gnome hook hammer but has lots of two handed and finesse feats between his 2 classes. The hammer says exotic but does not say anything about finesse and is used as a 2 weapon ability.

I would think the hammer is more of a heavy two handed weapon and the finesse skills would not apply to this weapon. Then why choose finesse feats that would not apply to his main attack?

I am sure I am wrong in this, someone explain please.

It's got nothing to do with exotic weapons, he has a feat that lets him do it. Fighter's Finesse. You pick a type of weapon, double weapons in his case, and you can use them like they're finesse weapons even when they're not. It's something fighters can get at level 5 from Advanced Weapon Training.

The Gnome Hook Hammer is a double weapon. It counts as dual wielding two finessable weapons for him.

Some two-handed weapons can be finessed and are exotic, yes. Like Estocs, for example. I haven't seen an Elven Curved Blade yet, but those would be another example.

If you're talking about Reggie, gnomish hook hammers are double-ended weapons (like orcish double axes). He has TWF because if you have that feat, you can strike with each end of the gnomish hammer just like if you had one weapon in each hand.

Its a double weapon, each part of a double weapon has its own stats normally, with the off hand part counting as finesse, however for a true finesse exotic weapon thats 2 handed you want the elven curve blade.

Fighter feats allow non-finnesable weapons to be finessed. That's exactly what Regill has.

It would take a while to pull off, but a elven curve blade rowdy rogue sounds like it'd be fun. You'd just need mythic weapon finesse to pull it off : /
