managed in the end with a combination of cleric holy aura and wizard polar ray. they have only 1 dex so polar ray one shots them
lol are you playing on story mode or something? even with mass bear stats, bard song, every possible fort buff/saves i could muster, i could barely get out of the passage.
1 crystal isn't so bad. try meeting 3 all taking turns using hum. it's permastun for the entire party.
nice try, there's not a chance in hell your entire party has enough fort save to beat 3 consecutive 40+ DC rolls every round.
Nope, still bs. My Kinetic Knight with 34 Con has a fortitude safe of 31. And that's not enough to reliably beat the DC40. Sure, I can put luck on her from Ember and then spam Cackle for a few minutes to make it last long, but even with this gameplay-abuse, she deals reduced damage to them despite having Ascended Element, meaning she can barely chunk through them before they randomly petrify somebody else.
The DC is supposed to be 22 and the save only 1 in 24 hours. They are busted because somebody didn't pay attention.
They *are* doable in real-time, because of how it works, but it's not a fun experience nor does it feel challenging. You just hope to luck out. I have no clue how one would go about doing them on Hard / Unfair. Probably just summon a ton of golems / undead and send one character in to trigger them while the rest is chilling 2 postal codes away.
Way to necro a thread almost 18 months old.
But the tactic works since you can send one person down the hall that has high fort saves and have the rest hang back and used ranged attacks.
