Morale tanking, lost all my armies... Restart?
So, on the road to Drezen I took my army up against the one in the southwest corner that was at a level 7. I lost pretty much everything and have spent several days after the Leper's Smile trying to rebuild my single army but my morale is tanking and I cannot build the units fast enough with the negative percentages racking up. Do I just need to restart the crusade?

Buy a bunch of mercenary units. That’s how I won. The regular archers/fighters take too long to reload. I also had aligned with the death knights, which helped secure the win

If you talk to Irabeth in the camp, you can buy a new army for 4.5k. It is liek 100 footman and 100 archers. Essentially worthless against rank 7 armies, but should be enough to get through the 2s and 3s with the support of hell knights

I purchased the armies for 7.5k gold, they and the Hellknights are all dead and I killed all the 2-3 level armies.

Crusader mode is awefull.

What i did at the start of the campaign skip days and buy new troops until i have over 200+ of each.

Your starting forces suck and you going to need more.

You dont need to start over.
But it would cut down on the frustration.

You need to clear the enemies systematically as well as free the towers on the map (those are towns), wait several days, and buff your units with the buildings. (The Damage/HP, etc. buildings buffs stack). Get about 200-300 of each unit, and you can pretty much clear the map from then on. Relatively easy, especially if you choose the support general that gets tons of healing.. literally you wont lose a single troop.. ever.. once the battle is over and your infirmary kicks in with the healing you did during the battle.

you can buy a good chunk of troops from irabeth for 7500 gold (and you should).

Losing your army at that point is really bad tho - like if you took fights where you lose like half your army you should really just reload and either try to play it different or just save the fight for later.
Its really not that hard overall but if you start losing too much youll keep losing.

You can skip days to replenish. As far as I know there are no timed quests (besides the ones that are only available during acts).

Well, morale hit zero while I was managing to clear the Lost Temple and now I am stuck. One fort before Drezen and I have 1 army left with 10 archers and 4 Hellknights... so there is a soft timer, the morale bar. Once it hits zero the armies do not replenish for recruitment and no supply points are generated...

Yeah, I pretty much lost half my armies before I could take the first fort. There needs to be a better tutorial for that whole mode that helps you understand what it does. I will probably just turn on the auto crusade mode to see if I can progress.

Worst case you can turn on Auto Crusade mode but you will forfeit some rewards and content. I think your choice is to download a mod to cheat your way through or start over. Owlcat really should implement a failsafe for situations like this... call it Iomaedae divine intervention or something and have it come with some sort of cost, but at least you wouldnt need to start over due to a glorified minigame.

I had the exact situation before.
Here are a few ways:
1. Reload to your previous save, and get more army before you strike back.
2. Turn on the auto crusade mode. But you lose some content.
3. Go to Dresden and deal with the army later. They are still there in act 3.
4. Cheat some money and exchange a lot of resources. Then you can build a huge army quickly.
