Why Is the Gwerm Mansion so hard?
The two last rooms have multiple level 7 mobs which hit like a truck and have reduced damage taken. I'm playing on core, but tried to turn in down to normal and it didn't seem to change anything. Perhaps the dungeon was already made when I turned it down, so ti was too late. I'm only level 3 so, it seems a bit rough. I watch some youtube with people getting half the mobs and killing them quickly. I don't know what level they were playing,, but it wasn't like mine.

i didn't touch the mansion until i cleared the entire market area, and it was a cake walk (i think level 5ish?) maybe your levels are too low

I did on normal, lvl 3. Never noticed anything out of ordinary.

Don't know why people play on core, the game has much more combat than any tabletop session would ever have.

Hmm Im usually lvl 4 ( or get to 4 in there ). Best I can advise is try it turn based to slow it down and in the last room lead the babu's out if you can or they will sneak attack and 1-2 shot most of your dudes. Also potions ( Barkskin etc. ) can help alot here

Regarding the damage reduction, you should have cold iron weapons on everyone by now. Pretty sure there's a tutorial pop up about that while you're still in the maze. Cold iron breaches most demons' DR, some stronger ones are limited to good aligned weapons.

Assuming you've got a save just outside that room, buff up with everything. Use those scrolls you've no doubt been finding loads of. It helps no end.

But yes, you're underlevelled for that place, you should be level 5 by the time you've cleared the marketplace and tavern attack. Not sure why you've gone past the market (geographically) without first clearing it.

I was trying to get to level 4 before the tavern fight. Am I supposed to get 2 Babu's, a huge brute and a humanoid?

You should reconsider Core. First, because it isn't, at least if you consider the actual mod as published "core." Owlcat went absolutely buck wild with some of the bosses as compared to their published stats, presumably to give the people who theorycraft full party builds from moment one through to end game something to do. Second because, and I don't mean this to be insulting, you don't seem familiar with the Pathfinder rules. Core assumes you fully understand things like bypassing DR, penetrating SR, and have at least a passing familiarity with all the various classes and archetypes.

You are right. This is my first pathfinder game. My problem was that I was using magical weapons, but not cold iron ones on the demons. Once I switched to cold iron, it was much easier. I do have to learn more about the classes etc. There are so many it's overwhelming. I have played many crpg's over the years, which is why I'm playing on core. I do feel that the bosses are a bit OP on core.
I need a cleric in my group, but I can't find one yet. I'm sure I could turn Camelia into a cleric over time though. Thanks for the help.

You can get an oracle who is right close to the mansion there if you spoke to his servant in square beforehand.

Word. I've played a lot of D&D in the day but never much pathfinder. There are a lot of things that are close to it but not quite. Core difficulty assumes you absolutely know how all the classes and feats fit together. It makes those OP bosses you mention doable. e.g. So I can't hit his 65AC but thier will saves are +8 and touch AC is 20 sooo scorching ray ( if they aren't fire immune and I dont have a way around that ..) and hold monster etc. will work where rushing in with my melee's not so much. Helps alot =D once you figure all that out.

Can I recruit the oracle after leaving the Mansion or only before? I left the mansion and went back to the tavern to rest.

Different quest that you get in the market sqaure. It will unlock a location thats near the mansion. If you haven't found the quest giver yet he's umm to the right of the church if I recall.

past the barbarian and enchanter encounter

Pull enemies OUT of rooms, this makes fights much easier, usually
Especially if you cast Grease in the doorway ;)

Yes, I agree. That helps with CC.

You can get Daeran whenever you visit his house, before or after Horgus mansion. You only need to have spoken to the messenger on the market place.
