Plus, presuming there's a fair number of named items yet to find given I'm only like 1/4 into the game, are those all considered unidentified when I pick them up?
But even if it only worked on identification, that is still a good one. Possibly someone more experienced in trickster path could chime in about that.
edit: Wait, I just looked again in my inventory instead of in the log and it now shows both +3 and +2 enhancements on it. I guess it did apply a +3 to the item effects, but it left the +2 line and left the flavor text saying +2. So, this could be as strong as it sounds. I'll have to find some generic magic items now and see how they get handled.
First, it works only if you ID the item and not someone else. You must have the best skill in the party for this. Second, it works only when you pick something up for the first time. So if Nenio IDs it, there is no way to go back on that. And putting it down and picking it up doesn't change it.
If you find an item with a "+", it is increased by 1. But the name stays the same: the new glaive +2 is still named glaive +1 and sells as such, too. The only item that it did not work on was an amulet of natural armor for some reason.
A rank 2, a minor power is added. For weapons and armor that means the +1 and +2 bonus powers. The major power at rank 3 are the +3 and better powers.
There is a strange effect sometimes. You pick up a weapon +2, it gets +3 and the added power is "enhancement bonus +2", which turned out to be superfluous and not some stacking effect.
Also, yeah, Nenio is going to be rough. My main is an int caster with max lore, so I'm safe when she's not around, but pretty sure she tops me due to autolevel skill picks and I'll have to be careful whenever doing her personal quests.
Rank 1 also does work on amulets of natural armor, rings of protection, cloaks of resistance and stat belts, letting you have stat items with odd numbers. It also works on amulets of mighty fists. I cannot confirm yet whether it works on unique items that increment stats as those may be coded differently.
However! There's also an iffy interaction with items that can stack (most non-unique magic items in Wrath do, unlike Kingmaker) - if you unequip an item enhanced by a trickster and it gets added to a stack, it will lose the trickster bonus. So for people who are reporting their rings of protection etc. not getting the bonus - check that you don't have a stack of the item already present in your inventory as that might be what's breaking it. I'm not sure if the item modified by trickster gets added to the inventory as a separate instance, but I observed a case of having multiple basic +1 weapons with trickster bonuses, each being a separate stack in the inventory, get put into a single stack when trying to sell them, and the same thing seems to happen on unequip.
However, the quest reward ring of prot +4 and the cloak of resistance +3 (which has passed, but I thought showed as identified by me in the log) are both not upgraded.
