You are right. Yet the mythic feat makes the mage armour so strong, it makes you question if wearing armour is nescessary. Anyroads, a huge boon for dex characters and spellcasters.
Mage armor gave armor bonus even in 3.0.
Since it will have 14 armor AC bonus, in a sense it will stack. Even full plates have 9 AC, and this is 5 better.
Dark souls reference?
I might misunderstood the question before, but I am assuming the stacking in question is whether when you have mage armour e.g. 6, and chest armour 9, they will not add up to 15.
A stronger mage armour would just override the armour class of the chest armour from my understanding and experience.
Correct but at Mythic 10 its 14 Armor, so unless you get 14 total AC from armor, its better than wearing armor unless the armor has special abilities... and it should just overwrite that, anyway.
They just wont stack, so if you get 12 armor from your actual armor but it has resists you want or something, still wear it, youll just end up with the higher of the two -14 armor from Mage Armor - as your number.
Q: do the other caster-style feats (say, pertaining to duration - the one that makes your hour+ spells 24 hours, etc) ALSO apply to pots/scrolls? If so, that DEFINITELY makes it a no-brainer for Lann. Down a level 1 potion of Mage Armor, it lasts 24 hours and gives 14 armor.
Yes
Remind me not to go off on how innacruate most RPGs are on how much armor weights and encumbers people. As a re-enactor, it infuriates me.
At mythic rank 3, I Get +7 ac + dex, and if I take like scaled monk, + cha.
If I have an optimal defense build.
Belt of +4 dex.
Helm of +4 cha.
20 in dex and cha from that one tiefling subrace. (if I rem right) + 2 from levels. 22 in one.
26 dex would be +8 to ac
24 cha would be +7 to ac.
Monk shirt adds another +1 to ac.
That's what...37 ac without a shield and with out other feats?
