ok what exactly is the "mystic paths" thing?
i'm early act 1 atm, and i had some "angelic path" and "aeon path" option pop up, but i have no idea how they work, what my status with them is, what the benefits/downsides are, and ideally what other paths are there. i searched character pages, but there's nothing.

A choice you will have to do later

in reality it will give some broken powers(like a holy beam if you pick the azata path independent of the class) and feat that most of the time will correct other feats like dual wielding(the mythic upgrade removes the -2 penalty attack roll) or make spells that last hours or minutes last a entire day

game doesn't really explain this, but up until the point you choose your mythic path as a level up, these are mostly just for roleplay and unlocking mythic path content.

Don't worry about it, you'll be fine.

Azata gives you the pet dragon and all the shared ally manouvers mostly i think

ok so i guess up to that point it's not like i can lock myself out of something by choosing or not choosing a dialog option.

Actually you can lock yourselves out of certain mythic paths. Like aeon, lich, trickster by not picking certain options when you got the chance. demon and angel are the only ones you cant lock yourself out before the first choice.

As above. Basic rule of thumb is if you want a certain path, pick the options when it comes up.

hmm ok, at least i hope the choice to lock myself out will be clear enough.
So, I feel a bit awkward asking, but how does one start the dragon path? It's something I've always wanted to do in a dnd or pathfinder session but never got high enough level or right class to really do so. Currently doin the siege of drezen with a character and I just really wanna know if I missed it or not. you don't have to spoil if you don't wanna, just tell me if I've missed it or not

Dragon, Devil, Swarm, and Legend are all Act 5 late-game paths. There are certain things you need to do for each one, but Dragon and Legend are pretty obvious. There's a quest in Act 3 involving Terendelev; do that and choose the obvious answer to unlock the path later.

Swarm and Devil require you to perform story steps in very particular ways, so those are more difficult to stumble upon (especially Swarm).
