Act 2 : Leper's Smile : Who to send?

I'm at the Leper's smile for the first time - it looks like some damning choices. Who should I send into it?

Nurah?
One of the companions?

Do I lose one of these at this point?

Any companion you send obviously can't accompany you until you finish off the queen.

I sent Sosiel, and while the descriptions of what happened were.. Graphic, to put it politely, he came out of it more or less as intact as he was going in.

From my understanding, if you derp around and collect the unique loot in the canyon, your army will take more losses/lose more morale, meanwhile if you rush the queen you'll take less losses but the loot will be destroyed.

I chose Nurah in my last playthrough and I didn't lose anyone.

who you pick is mostly irrelevant other than flavour text, what is important is the 4 items ( one on each counter) and the one event (the person in the crack just before boss), each time you interact with one of them the crusade loses moral. At the end of the day the items are mostly a little meh other than one or two but moral is also very easy to get so its up to you.
