Is there any use for gems or only for selling?
I have a ton of agates, pearls and other gems. are these for selling or crafting? there is no description on them.

The description always gives you a hint to there use. If it doesn't say anything about ingredients for crafting or cooking and only mentions a good sale item..that's all its good for. Diamond dust however is a spell casting reagent..although the description tells you so.

I think there is an Azata quest line that calls for 30 "bulk sale items"

Didn't know that..however should be easy to fulfill. DOn't really need to save for it.

You can also tell if an item is important by the " sparkly golden circle" around said item. Diamond dust for example.

yeah everything with "a merchant would pay a good price for it" I've already sold off, but most gemstones don't have any description
