Anyone else find power attack/piranna strike to not be worth it late game?
Anyone else find power attack/piranna strike to not be worth it late game. The enemies has such high AC that it just seems not worth it to turn on.

No, it's literally one of the biggest damage boosts you will get in the game short of sneak attacks, crits, and maximize spells.

Yeah it's quite a huge damage boost, when you hit. However when you have +35 attack vs 50+ AC targets, that -4 is way too harsh.

I will always prefer to hit better.
Then use some other Damage boost, like Holy or Flame or what not. I only use Power Attack, if Damage Reduction is too high and no other way to get through it.

True seeing.

I'm not joking. Pop true seeing and a lot of those mega ACs crash and burn.

Also, always keep a Paladin handy with their level 11 smite ability.

Example:
My level 12 Paladin -
+12 BAB
+7 Str
+2 Sword
+1 Weapon Focus
+1 Background Bonus

+23 -4 power attack = +19

+4 from spells (Aid, Prayer, Haste)

+23

Tag on +2 from Light of Hope

+25

Add +2 from weapon bond

+27

Add +6 from Smite

+33

That 35 AC isn't so intimidating anymore.

35 AC? I am level 15 fighting 50 AC guys, So you would hit on a 17, Nice. (I am not even on core, so their AC is debuffed. Either way it isn't an issue with my casters to tear them down, but I find my melee just being useless unless I remove power attack to actually hit something. True seeing though, good call. Didn't know it helped with blur and such.
