Read These Books for bonuses.

So I don't think this was a feature in the first game Kingmaker, but in this game if you read certain books you get combat bonuses.

In Chapter 1 essential readings are.
Guino Pollen, "Notes from my Travels in Northern Avistan"
Tome of the Minotaur: Sermons from the Labyrinth
Temples of Iomedae: Father Lorian's Guide for Neophytes
Terendelev, Guardians of Kenabras
The Keen Edge of Truth: Recollection and Admonitions of an Inquisitor of Asmodeus.

I kept all my books in my chest, but I never properly 'read' ones that were not directly connected to the quests.

I kept all in chest too, so I can go and check this out. I missed that thing completely.

Maybe I'm doing it wrong. I did not notice a bonus I read at least a couple of those.

Yeah I not only pick up every book, but I info and actually read em as well :)

the bonuses are all permanent. I haven't finished chapter 2 yet, i get a case of the restarts. If anyone wants to help by adding all the bonus books from future acts to this list or composite a list please feel free and help the community. Also you have to actually open "info" and scroll down the book length, dont have read it yourself just open the book.

Tome of the Minotaur: Sermons from the Labyrinth This book grants a +1 bonus to attack and damage by Glaive as if the affected creature had weapon training with Glaive. Shield Maze
Xanthir Vang, "On the Nature of Demons" This book grants a +1 caster level on spells from Enchantment school.
Xanthir Vang's Notes This book grants a +1 competence bonus against Fear and Frightened effects.

they're permanent buffs. One even gives you +10 hp which isn't anything to scoff at.

I'm wondering if it's possible to give the buffs to other characters tho, I read em all with my main character and not sure if that's why he has all the buffs or if it's by design that only he gets the buffs.

doubt it, this in my opinion is how they balance your character and make them even more special when compared to your companions who in their own right are kind of broken. I mean if this alone was in Kingmaker, i wouldn't feel the hero was so generic.
