Is quarterstaff a two-handed weapon instead of a double weapon?
When I equip a quarterstaff game shows it as a two-handed weapon on my character sheet instead of double weapon. Only one attack with full attack bonus and x1.5 strength modifier for damage at level 1.

Are there even double weapons? Is it some setting I have to toggle?

I think you need the two-weapon fighting feat before you can start using those weapons as such.

Its a two handed weapon.
The double weapons are two bladed sword, the orc double axe and the gnome hook hammer.

I tried, but it was still a two-handed weapon.

They do exist, such as the gnome hooked hammer, but there's nothing in the game indicating that they are double weapons.

You can't wield your pet. Sadly.

So I shouldn't get two-weapon fighting feats if I decide to quarterstaff? In pnp quarterstaff is a double weapon.

You should not. The game engine does not allow for multiple ways to use a weapon. Its designated as a two handed weapon and you can't change that. Treat it as a two handed weapon for purposes of feats.

In real life you'd basically never wield it as a double in combat. No advantage to that. It's just a fantasy trope.

Claw attacks count as proficient one-handed weapon attacks.

There is no such a thing as a double weapon in real life, unless we are talking about Firearms with Bayonet or Grenade Launcher attachments.

Real life combat did not even have Claw weapons, those were reserved to ritual combat only. It was a spear and bow/crossbow fest.

Then it's just the weakest two-handed weapon in the game.

Maybe, but that's how it's in pnp too, so..

Right, because it's ineffective. There was however a staff in real life and it was wielded as a 2h. So to make it a 2h is accurate to real combat.

Double weapons have always been kind of dumb, but I get why in a world where you weld two swords together and call it a weapon you'd want to put the double property on anything that could be wielded that way. I'm just pointing out that if they don't, and leave it a 2 hander, it's a legit way to fight with it.
