What does him helping you be stronger actually do? I'm going to keep things as vague as possible to avoid spoilers.

You get an inherent +2 to a number of things [nat ac, saves, attack and damage rolls, DCs and rolls to concentrate and overcome spell resistance] but when your hp drops below 20% you basically start attacking the nearest creature until you die or combat is over. For a caster its pretty bananas. For a melee its a little dangerous.

The AC is an enhancement bonus, so wont stack with bark skin or amulets of natural armour - use it ONLY for the +2 to DC for your dedicated spell-casters like Nenio.
