Are Scribe and Alchemist Kit's Worth It?
You got to use a feat plus you have to spend about 11 k for the level 3 and 4 kits.

Plus you actually need materials to craft them.

I've given them a hard pass.

no not really, the kit's are stupidly expensive. If I need a scroll or a potion I just buy a damn scroll or potion.
And I rarely need more scrolls or potions then what the game throws at me, hell I don't even cook.

Yeah, they're not worth it at all. I have over a hundred and fifty scrolls, I NEVER USE THEM because you can only carry a few into combat and they're usually worse than a native spell, I had over 96 lesser cure potions + 32 moderate when I sieged Drezen too, you get everything in abundance.

1 battle ONE. I tried using scrolls and remembered why they suck using Magic missle to fire a single 1d4 bolt is a wasted action.

Another factor is the very significant time requirement to craft them which can cause triggers to fire and throw encounters at the party before they are level ready.

Is it worth it?

Yes for scrolls of hastes to be used by a scroll savant level 10+. But i don't see the point of crafting anything else right now...

No if you don't have a scroll savant.

Or you could take any other wizard archtype and just use haste.

I'm using a Thessalonian Specialist and can cast it 4 times a day (more if I use heighten cast because owlcat forgot that you can prep spells at higher levels normally without raising their DC) at level 6.

I rarely have a fight that needs a haste or isn't ended by a single casting of haste.

But your scroll savant will already be able to cast haste, since that's a requirement for creating the scrolls anyway.

You wouldn't use spell slots on it though and could prepare something else. I'd still rather have another type of wizard though.

I just created a Merc mule for crafting Haste scrolls and Mage Armor potions, They are very good for Archmage armor feat and the money you save on armor can be spent somewhere else. you can even skip the mule if you skill Woljif into vivisectionist and use Nenio for the scrolls.
