I'm also playing with all the tips off for combat and dialogue and only using real time combat. so far so good in the Maze at the start, and I should have said I am using the Magus class which has the highest difficulty accoding the character creation section. I have chosen subclass battle mage but for some reason when in the game in character screen it doesn't tell you what sub class you have, just the main class, Magus...anyway to check what subclass you are anywhere? I'm still earning the ropes so going to tread carefully as attacks of opportunity still a bit of a mystery to me....so let's say I'm going in half blind in terms of the mechanic and fully blind in terms of knowing what is around the corner. I'm also not using the map screen. i love playing games like this, make it brutal and the iron man mode adds to the immersion. i fully expect to die a few times and restart but that is part of the ecstasy of death haha
cheers for the advice, i am prepared to sink a few hundred hours into trying over a year or so, it's just how i roll with games these days, i can't get that immersion feeling without making it difficult for myself and iron man. i've been playing Days Gone on PS$ on Survival II mode with iron man for a good two years and never got past level 6. So i am depriving myself of game story in some ways but the tension and immersion make it worthwhile. I have chickened out on unfair mode and hard mode with this game so far though as the story is so great and i want to expereince it :)
If the main character die, it's game over, so a extremely hard to kill back line character is recommended. Someone that can run away if needed and who stay away from the most dangerous enemies.
In Last Azlanti, we kinda have to let the group do the heavy lifting while we make sure the main character prioritize safety.
Thanks for the advice :) i survived quite a lot in Wastleland 2 Supreme Jerk difficulty and PoE Path of the Damned by running away, it has served me well in real life too haha
How does death work in this game? I had my main character on -2 HP and she got up after the rest of my crew won the fight.
Can they keep losing hit points when prone as I read you only die when your negative hitpoints exceed your overall HP? So if I had 100 hit points would I need -100 to die?
I'm in the Maze by the way, going to start another thread on that if you guys are interested, i'm going to try and do a Unfair mode maze run....and do a running commentary on it with nightly episodes haha
There to much potential bug (especially at the last few chapters) that can stop you in your tracks.
It would be the worst feeling in the world to run into something like the falling under the floor bug (if it save at the wrong moment) or the decision bug (the game remembering your decision wrong after a reload)
Imagine spending so much time only for all the effort to hit a wall.
You can loose more HP while down. Most enemies will focus on the other characters, but AOE spells, ground based effects, auras etc will still cause more damage. Also its really just CON or 2xCON (later), so you will have 10-20 negative hitpoints (or twice that later)
Would be interested to see that, i tried unfair but switched back to core...
Edit: Unless you played Kingmaker on unfair, you'll be in for quite the surprise i think^^ Pathfinder Unfair is definitely harder than Pillars PotD (imo)
I´ve fought this fight couple of times now and it´s unwinnable. You have some allies that cant hurt the gargoyles and even though I max buff my party before the fight I can´t beat the last wave. Maybe I´m supposed to level up first...I dunno
henrywiddas has Pathfinder: Wrath of the Righteous Just now
Day 3: Ok the game has started for real now and I'm ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ myself as I spent two hours investing in this character in the creation screen. Ok, I've fallen down this hole after a swarm of locusts and a stick insect barged in.... stay tuned for more, hit the subscribe button, actually hover your mouse cursor over it and press the left mouse button. ta.
In standard mode the balor in act 4 has AC 48 (don't even ask about spell resistance and saves), but you will die long before you get there. You can die to random encounters in this game, especially those near demon armies.
