is there a trick to this quest? hes a level 18 barb and i'm level 10, why do i have to fight something so strong so soon?! hes wipes my fully buffed party in seconds, my party is geared specifically to fight evil and undead/demons, he is both evil and undead

I literally wasn't even able to see his health bar move through the about hour I spent trying to fight him

Yep, this quest is completely bugged. I believe its because the chieftain has some sort of plot armor that makes damage impossible.

Just ran into the guy. Big oooopsie. That dude is a stalwart son of a gun. Tried debuffing him, but he went through my lvl 10 party like a shark at a mermaid festival

Just did it. Seemed very hard I agree. He insta-gipped 2 of my Party!!! First round Charge then Full Attack and Cleaving Finish ... !! How do you Full Attack after a Charge..??

Rest of my group spread out. MC Pally still stranding tanked with Smite Evil and Fighting Defensively. Lann started fishing for 20's while Ember first put Protective Luck on Pally and went on with Cackle and Scorching Rays against Cheifs low Touch AC. Seelah got Arul back on her feet and then more tankning, buffing and fishing for 18-20.

Got it turned around!!!

Did not think so when I saw his stats and opening move ...

I bet him using Lay on hands and other rays that damages undead and goes for touch ac so keep using lay on hands with Seelah, , seems to go in fine every time . Also , prepare to loose a few since this guy doesnt fall for the trick to put your tank in front and hold the distance since he has a very high damage and cleave. I bet him on core with my characthers at lvl 10. If you try to bet him with anything else then you will loose since hes normal AC is 41

I was 10 as well -- i just killed him taking no damage. the key- icy prison and haste.

he always charges the party member furthest from him. I just put my tank there and I was fine.

I smashed him in like 3 tries but I was Angel/Cleric so I had every utility you could think of.

Lamons got solid advice though, a failed icy prison reflex roll and almost every enemy in the game can be hit on a free 2+ roll, definitely one of the best spells to take for nenio or any other caster your using.
