Info regarding Legend Mythic Path
Hello

Can someone who’s gotten to a later point at the story answer a few questions about the Legend path? I’m not that far into the game and I want to craft my build so I don’t get caught with my pants down when it comes to the lategame choice.

- Do you keep getting normal progression? I mean feats, skills, attribute points , HP and BAB?
- If your BAB keep growing, do you get more attacks every +5 increment?
- Are you forced to respec when you choose Legend or do you just keep going from where you are? Specifically I want to know if you can keep Improved Critical feat line from Trickster if you picked it previously
- Do you actually keep your base Myhic Feats and Abilities and only lose you path specific stuff? Do you get to choose new feats at rank 8 and 10 and a new ability at rank 9? SO in the end do you still get 5 regular Mythic Feats and 5 Mythic Abilities and only lose path specific stuff?
- I know XP requirements drop drastically, but is it actually possible to hit level 40? Since it’s pretty late when you get to pick, I don’t know if there’s still enough XP left to get there
- Do power attack/piranha strike/deadly aim continue to increase damage and AB penalty past BAB 20?
- Do animal companions keep progressing as you do past level 20 if you pick another class that has a companion or do they always stop at 20?

Thanks in advance!

I would like to know as well. Very curious.

I have visions of a 2h fighter vivisectionist (or perhaps grenadier) and want to know if I can max both classes.

I have no idea about the path, but level 40 is a pipe dream, guys, as is BAB 40.

I agree, but Mythic Feats and Abilities may be too much of a high cost in some cases. And since I want to plan my build ahead so that I do not get caught with my pants down in a 60+ hour playthrough, knowing what I'm giving up is really important

I'll answer what I can. Someone correct me if i'm wrong

- You do keep getting normal progression for each level above 20. BAB, HP, Saving throws, skills, caster level, feats, attribute points

- Even though BAB continues to grow, you cannot get more than 4 attacks.

- When you become a Legend, I believe you lose everything from Mythic Level 3 - when you become a Legend. I understand you keep the first two tiers of stuff.

- When you become a Legend by completing the relevant quest, your level is doubled. So if you were 18 when completing it, you would become level 36.

- Not sure on Power attack / Piranha etc. I would assume they would continue to increase.

- Pets always stop at 20.

Also keep in mind you can respec your character with the Pathfinder trainer. You can do it prior to becoming a Legend so you don't need to suffer through 75% of the game with a weird build to be able to pull off whatever Legend combination you come up.

Thank you!
I don't want to respec because it changes the difficulty to custom. Also I may lose access to Improved Critical feat line from Trickster since I'll lose the trick that gave me access to those feats (since I plan to play a martial class that feat line is important).

My biggest doubt is what do you get to keep. Been getting all kinds of responses: people saying you only get to keep feats and abilities from ranks 1 and 2 (like you said), people saying you get to keep all base feats and abilities and lose all path specific stuff and people saying you lose it all....

Supposedly you get greatly increased exp rewards as living legend, dunno if that is enough to hit 40 by the end of the game though.

Ehhh I had chosen for the legend path and finally managed to complete the quest, and after some cutscenes and dialogues and stories I changed my mind and reloaded then chose to stick with my mythic power.

And when you chose the path did you notice if you had lost you Mythic Feats and Abilities (I mean basic ones, not path specific)? And what about after you completed the quest?

From what I heard, your EXP requirements decrease to the point your actual level doubles. So if you choose legend at level 19 you instantly become 38.

So it basically just doubles all the exp you have gained, even retroactively. Nice.

Kinda, but the game actually lowers requirements to level up. Your EXP stays the same. Different thing but same final effect :)

I really like the idea of it, but I am wondering what combination of classes would do it justice and make it on par with the mythic paths (which looking at them they look REALLY potent in some cases...)
I very much like the idea of just being a really strong dude in a world of might and magic. I plan to go 20 in 2h fighter because that was going to be the build for my first char anyway. What do you think would be a good idea for the other 20? I was thinking some cavalier especially after they fix animal companions and mounted combat but beyond that I'm not really sure. Don't want to take a class that does magic or has godly aligned abilities like paladin either though.

Maybe slayer or barbarian. I gotta look more into it later :praisesun:

Well I like multiclassing a lot. So I plan on going Divine Hound 1 / Sohei 11 / Mutation Warrior 4 / Mad Dog 4. That way I get to choose a companion other than horse, get one use of judgement, two casts of lead blades, two flurry attacks with fauchard, mutagen, weapon specialization and rage, while getting full animal companion progression. Since I'm picking Trickster I'm going to have a forced change of alignment to nonlawful so I can naturally pick Mad Dog later on. As for my last 20 levels, I'm gonna go full Sword Saint for the nice increased critical multipliers and bunch of martial stuff, while getting lots of defensive buffs I previously had as Trickster. But I'm not so sure yet....

Even if you want to go 20 levels in 2HF, I'd still suggest 20 levels in Sword Saint or maybe 1 level in monk (to get WIS to AC) and 19 in Sword Saint. Saint is a VERY powerful martial class
