Said build is Trickster, since trickster can turn itself invisible when stealthing, making it FAR easier to sneak. you can also find gear that gives you a ton varied bonuses to stealth checks, which is practically mandatory.
I can't remember where I found it, but one of those items is a robe called Perilous Shadows, which allows your character to recieve a 1 minute Greater Invisibility whenever they kill a target. There are more but I can't remember their names off the top of my hat and I don't have access to the game right now.
Cant always make it work mind you, but a free kill when it works.
yes i use scrolls, but most of it is from the invisibility/vanish buff (+20), but also 40 ish dex helps.
Just buy tons of vanish potions and use them before you try and sneak. they are dirt cheap.
In kingmaker you don't have to use scrolls all the time, this campaign is more "epic" tho, enemies are demons. You need to take every advantage you an get to get a one up on those guys.
Stealth is your ability to go unnoticed but unless you're invisible the enemies get a massive boost to perceive you when you approach them. Basically it allows you to go un-heard as you walk around but it's pretty hard not to notice someone walking right up to you.
D&D had stealth separated into sneak and hide skills respectively.
Sneak was your ability to go unheard
Hide was your ability to go unseen but you still needed somewhere to hide (or needed to be invisible)
So in a nutshell if you want to use a stealth build you need to either invest in potions/scrolls of invisibility or bring a caster along to cast invisibility on you.
