Necromancy on adventure map
I went down a certain mythic path that involves the dead, and one of the weaknesses (strength?) is that you can raise dead for armies after a victory, at the cost of diminished recruitment weekly for normal units. I get the penalty for sure, but no matter what I kill, it does not seem to raise any dead minions after a battle...except for twice where I found about 10 skeletons and 20 zombies after two battles. I am unsure if its a bug, or there is some tab I am missing but any help would be appreciated.

I think it does work but only if you have no undead units in your army and the skeletons and zombies you get are really minimal. Either it's buggy or just really weak.

It is just weak. You can get some undead if living units died in the battle.
thats a shame that the downside is just so debilitating compared to the little to no benefit. If I could buy the undead units that would be something as well, but this just seems annoying to deal with.

Sounds like it works to me..If you have twice received undead units.

well not quite: it says "Armies get a replenishment of skeletons and zombies equal to (value of killed enemies/275) after a victory." and I have raised 1 general to level 9 so id guess around 20-30 battles have occurred, with it only occuring twice, and the two battles were level 7 strength, so i find it hard to believe that they would be worth 10 skeletons in revival. They are not added to armies either as the number has remained stagnant.

Yeah, it's busted. There's no way this is intended. You will ultimately lose due to attrition. As a lich, I don't even bother with non-spellcaster generals. If I can't spam heal to avoid nearly any unit death, I won't make any progress. It's ridiculous. I'm really enjoying lich, aside from the fundamentally busted lich crusade. I did a respec, and now have the "buff" TWICE now. I don't generate any undead outside of like a few skeletons every once in a blue moon, but otherwise, it's virtually impossible to get units outside of dumping all my gold into mercs at obviously ridiculous prices.

I was wondering why I had the buff twice, that explains that! thank you! I am in the same situation and have just learned to rely on my spell casters with a bunch of shield bearers and such to get in the way.

It's definitely screwy, you don't get nearly enough skellies and zombies to compensate for 50% less recruitment every week. And like someone above mentioned, it only works at all if the army doesn't have undead in it already. That has to be a bug for obvious reasons. Hopefully it will be fixed.

They will have to, lich is virtually unplayable like this.

So far I've had no problems with the lich crusade mechanics. I will only add that I relied heavily on certain mercenaries and my general's ability to heal each turn.

its not that the overworld mechanics are difficult, because they arent very at all, it was more to see if it was working as intended ( which it looks like it is not) and it also diminishes from the flavor of the path because it is just acting as a hindrance without giving a way to create the undead hordes that I'd imagine are among its main draws.

I just played around with it a little and the results were really weird. I installed a mod that made me auto win every crusader battle to check how many undead I get. Most of the time I got around 5-20 Skeletons or Zombies, but only if there were no undead units in my army.
Afterwards I tried to use the undead army you get at the start (600 zombies and skeletons).
Never got any undead with that army until I "fought" a level 10 demon army, suddenly I got a few hundred skeletons and zombies from that.
It's completely broken.
You will not get new undead units after a battle if the army you used have those units in it already. So if you use a non undead units army it will work fine until you have skeletons and zombies in it, if you use a undead army it will never work.

You can stack hospitals until you get 100% of your troops back, really throws mud in the face of necromancy.
