BUG: My game crashes at 92% loading (what to do if it happens to you)

Hello everyone!


We are aware of the issues some of you are experiencing with the game crashing at 92%, specifically on computers (most commonly laptops) with an integrated Intel GPU. Thanks to the logs you sent us, we managed to identify the problem, and are working on a fix at the moment. However, the problem is rather complex, and fixing it will take some time. We expect to complete this work in about two weeks.

Sigh... I appreciate you all putting these games together. I'm sure if you could have avoided this issue you would have. So while I am disappointed, I am not mad. In the grand scheme of things I can wait two weeks for a years worth of fun. No point refunding for me, as I know I would buy it and play it eventually no matter what.

Thank you for the update. It heartens me to have a progress report to know I'm not drifting in the wilderness. So if you can or if the timetable changes please keep us updated even if there is no fix yet.

If this were a tabletop game I would demand my DM to give me an extra level or cool magic item as compensation!

I'm just hoping you guys can be a little more transparent with us Mac players. We're not getting a lot of info and most of us can't progress past level two thanks to the Grey Garrison third floor glitch.

I mean, at some point why bother? Did no one in QA play past three hours on a Mac with an M1 chip? Why make the version if you can't play it?

Agreed. Thanks for the separate pinned post. Two weeks isn't the end of the world, as long as its corrected completely. I look forward to diving in and spending the next several months in this game.

Hello, thx for the update, just to be sure is it the same crash where the unity pop up appears at the end of the loading screen after the logos

I have a game save that makes the load bar freeze the game at 52% every time when I click the nearest exit point. I can't get past it. Even if I rest first or throw out my inventory. Freeze, freeze, freeze, freeze, freeze. I'm so annoyed by this now I can't even.

And I don't even have an iGPU. This is on AMD + 1070.

Thanks Owlcat, this helps a lot for more than a few of us and as I suspected its not a small fix, Any idea what intel chip to avoid getting if we happen to buy a new computer (Desktop for me), thinking hard about it right now :)

Why claim that Intel GPU is the problem when all the M1 Mac Crash in Grey Garrison ?

The 92% bug is not the only one we are fixing now. We keep working on the Mac fix as well. We will share the news as soon as we are able to!

While disheartening to wait longer I am very relieved to have an estimation on when I can play the game. And in all honesty in two weeks many more bugs will have been patched so those of us here may end up having a smother first play through.
