There are ALOT of really interesting and fun races from PF and its many source books, everything from the Tengu, to the Samsaran, to Hobgoblins and Kobolds. All of which i'd love to see in the game, as it just opens up more options.
But i'd also like to see them finish the damn game, i mean we don't even have favored class bonuses in game yet. That's a core rule of the game... and we don't have it at all...In all honesty. As much fun as the game is, it feels bare bones when it came to the added classes, feats, and spells that got added to the game. Hell Mythic spells aren't even working like they should... Did you know, a Mythic Spell caster should be getting access to Mythic versions of spells? For example! Mythic Enlarge Person increases your size category by 2 instead of 1.
Is alot of features that feel half done, or rushed so as much as i want more races--- i'd like them to finish the game first and implement features that should have been in at launch.
Pretty similar to when Paizo adds a new class and then they have to consider all the balancing stuff about it. It is not always "the more the better". But I can see that Goblin characters somewhat seem popular with Pathfinder, considering the comics...
But as someone that almost exclusively specializes in making exotic characters, I respectfully disagree. ... I want my kobolds and goblins, man...
I like humans most (of all Pathfinder races, humans, aasimars and tieflings are the only ones I use) and I don't wanna pay for all those hours it takes to fully implement every additional race.
But if they do it as optional DLCs, why not.
I'm not, as someone who pretty much only plays non-human races, and the less human it is the better. I want my Kobolds, Tengu, and Goblins. I want variety... i'm sick of tired of being flavors of human... all we ever get is
Tall human
skinny human
short human
stout human
blue human
green human
horned human
angel human
Like for ♥♥♥♥ sake can we be a little more original. Humans DO not run Golarian, there are tons of other races available in the setting. Why restrict yourself to one freaking race type? it's pretty infuriating for me, as a long time Pathfinder fan, the lack of non-human choices is pretty disparaging.
I miss good old days when things were more ... simple.
Nowadays everyone is trying hard to be creative (even in areas where it's not really needed, like when game devs fully rework gameplay mechanics in part 2 of a game instead of using old mechanics from part 1 which were tested by time and liked by players), but the result of it often looks like a freak circus on an acid trip.
Humans are attractive, relatable, familiar.
Most other races are ugly, disproportional, revolting. They're like the opposite of eye candy for me. Yeah, I'm racist towards non-humans.
It's always a matter of preference, but i'd rather have MORE options then less. I find humans to be borning, uninteresting, bland and plain. Same for elves, dwarves, gnomes, and pretty much every other race that is a flavor of human.
At least my home games i get to play whats fun and that's what really counts!
Then again i'm probably biased >,> what with my avatar and all.
As Master Yoda Would say... Only the Sith Deal in Absolutes. If you believe that all Goblins are inherently Evil you'd be dead wrong. Just as there are Evil Aasimar, and Good Tieflings, there are good Goblins, and Kobolds, i mean we have a Succubus in game who is striving to be a better person, and maybe even good in some respect.
So yes a Goblin could follow the angelic path, and become a hero for good... it's very possible. Or maybe he just decides to become a Lich or Trickster... remember there is more then one path to victory =3
No harm in wanting more choice, but the game already offers huge amounts of choice, more than any other cRPG I have played.
Not only this the choices do have some impact on story and this is the reason why we may not see other races.
Pus a Gobo leader of a crusade is stretching it a little.
Personally I'm more interested in playing what's interesting, instead of just what's attractive, and a lot of the non-human races have some really cool societies/lore to play off of for a character.
One of the most interesting things I read about Pathfinder goblins is that if they, for whatever reason, spend enough time isolated away from goblin society, they actually can sorta just... chill out and even start to grow a conscience, since they're not constantly being pushed to raid and burn everything.
That's where the concept of my CG goblin ranger that spent a long stretch of time living alone in the woods came from, and he's one of my favorite characters from my roster.
Yeah it's all fine and a good rp concept, but if they would put Gobo's in them imagine what we'd have on the forums...
"I play a goblin and I think it is game breaking none of the NPCs talk about me being a Goblin, other than ther first 4 times."
Or
"My immersion is ruined because they treat my goblin like he is just a regular human"
We have already sent this with a few other races and something like Goblin would be worse.
Meh, people will complain no matter what you do. Which is why despite my preferences I don't begrudge the devs for their choices. I hope for more options in the future, since they added more races in Wrath already, but for now, it is what it is.
