Is it random? I though you can only trigger that encounter after the three days are up?
I actually used that encounter to get back to the tavern quickly after finishing the last time sensitive task with freeing the story teller.
One thing about the world map, crossing the rents is incredible time consuming. So try to only do that when necessary.
I just fought the tavern defense again today, and I had already cleared absolutely everything in Kenabres by that time (exluding the bonus boss in Market Place that only spawns after the tavern fight).
I am pretty sure that the three day timer also applies otherwise, not just via tavern resting. It's three ingame days and the game counts that time as well. What you do have to watch out for though is the rest timer. If you set that to auto-rest it's easy to waste a ton of hours on inefficient natural health regeneration.
Yea this is the real way to make the fight easier and succeed at it. Just keep postponing it til you level up to 5 through quests. You will not get caught up in it if you don't rest at the tavern and reload every time you get the random encounter on the map.
The 3 days thing means that after 3 total days you will either be forced to start the tavern if you (1) sleep at the base or (2) get caught by the messenger on the map. If neither of these happens, you don't have to start it yet. So you can just keep reloading every time the messenger encounter happens. It's random.
And the encounter is only semi random - at some point, you will have to travel, you *will* get a non random random encounter.
No - the random seed isn't as random as you think. Show me a 15 day pre Tavern Fight save ... you can't ...
