Anyone know how the "Glowing Croissant" is supposed to work?
Among the recipes that I have found that can be cooked during camp there is the "Glowing Croissant". The description says "Eating a glowing croissant fully restores your HP". But of course at the moment you make it, which is at the end of your rest, your HP are already fully restored. And then all day you have a "Glowing Croissant" effect on your characters, but I can't find any button to click it to restore HP. Anyone know how this is supposed to work?

Haven't tried cooking it myself yet, but I assume the point is if you're cooking it you can use the shorter rest periods and still come away with all your spells and health refreshed.

I'm trying to find the same answer. Though I'm playing on Normal, and using the game-suggested rest durations. I haven't noticed my sleep period ever going past just one though, so I'm still wondering how this recipe is supposed to work.

You do not regen 100% of your HP when you rest, unless you have enough spare healing spells and abilities in reserve to heal you all the way up. That might not be the case for easier difficulties, but by the Core rules you regain i think its 1 hp per HD of your character. So having a cooking item that can restore you to max hp, when you rest even if your cleric is bone dry is pretty useful.

That said i havent messed with this yet to say for sure.

As an Example
A Fighter has 60 hp, but is down to 10 from the days battles
He rests a full 8 hours and recovers 6 hp his HD bringing him up to 16
your cleric has 4 level 1 slots left over from the days battles so he converts those slots into 4 cure light wounds spells, we'll just say he heals an even 15 hp
Your fighter is up to 41 hp

But you have no more abilities or features to heal, so you start the following day with 41/60 hp

If you had the food item instead you wouldn't need the extra healing as it auto restores your hp to maximum.

I think that is how it works.

Basically what the above poster said. It’s meant for party’s that generally rest with a drained healer out of heals or for party low on healing.

Either uncheck use spells on rest (not really the point you may as well cook something else if you got spells) or look at the hours needed to sleep.

If the recommended rest is something like 16 hours or up it’s because you are over resting to regain spells to use to heal. If you cook the glowing item you will full heal after an 8 hour rest so you can uncheck recommended rest and choose 8 hours and be fine.

That solves it for me. Thank you!
