Tank was Shaman ( as she could get 1 higher AC due to Dex on armour + buckler)
Had Paladin use Demoralize to keep the enemy shaken or w/e it does.
and had the 2 other people range it, Which consisted of: a Fighter specced into Longbows ( a companion) -
Me ( a Water Kineticist - Blood, but it's immune to wrack)
This was on Core difficulty. - I made sure to:
Use potion of Shrink person on the tank, and the spellcaster (Kineticist) so the tank gets More AC and the Spellcaster gets + to hit.
I used Enlarge on the Longbow user because without it the damage would always be 0 ( not always, but a lot because reduction)
I'd say, Make sure you have high AC and keep the elemental Debuffed with Demoralise, and potentially the light of angels which you may or may not have, - as if the elemental is in range of it, it dazzles them
Cast Resist Energy: Cold on your tank. Half of his damage is cold damage, which resist energy will negate.
Cast Shield Of Faith on your tank (it overlaps the ring of protection you might have picked up earlier). If it's Seelah, make sure she's got her shield equipped because she has the Shield Focus feat which increases the AC her equipped shield provides by +1. Although tempting, don't cast Enlarge Person on her for the fight, because it will reduce her AC. Activate the Defensive Fighting mode (it's a basic tactical ability in your "A"bilities tray on your hotbar). Seelah won't be hitting anything, probably, while she's in defensive mode, but that's ok because everyone else will be able to whittle the elemental down while she's tanking.
Camellia starts as a shaman at level 1, but if you level her as a shaman for level 2, she can pick a hex. Select the Protective Luck hex. Then cast it on your tank every round (it only lasts for one round at this level unless you sustain it using chant, or if you are a witch yourself, you could cast it and then cackle to sustain it).
Keep in mind that, unlike in the tabletop game, in the video games like Kingmaker and Wrath, drinking a potion from your quick slots only costs you a Move action. Which means you can drink a potion and still attack in the same round.
This is assuming the default character party. If you're an uber tank character, tactics may vary.
Thank you!
Problem there was already picked my hex (Slumber) which in this fight of course didn't do much but managed to kill it with Bless + Enlarge + Demoralize. The shaman still got 1 shotted at full health despite Bears Endurance, Reduce Person and Shield of Faith but thats ok, killed the bugger
Ha. Well. I mean. She's a shaman. And not a particularly tank-optimized one at that.
Just because she starts out with a rapier and a buckler doesn't mean she really should be in melee past the prologue.
Honestly, of all the pre-made companions in the game, Seelah is a mediocre tank at best, and there's only one or two other companions who should ever be in melee range with anything - and you won't meet them for a while. Woljif is... a minor exception, in the sense that he's a TWF rogue, so he has to be in melee, but he definitely should be trying to not draw attention to himself while he's there.
This is the elemental in the prologue. You won't have your level 2 spells until the end of the prologue, and that would be Inflict Moderate, not Serious. If you're talking about the scroll - the save DC on that is so low, the elemental is basically guaranteed to only take half damage from it. You're better off actually casting Inflict Moderate yourself instead.
1. Take some one with high move speed(i used hunter pet)he will be used as a bait
2. Give your team ranged weapons/use auto attack cantrips
3. Run your bait to room and when ele focus his aggro on bait start running around table
4. When bait running his laps around table your team shoot ele
5. Ele dead
6. Profit
Super simple :) And you no lose any spells and potions.
Very good idea actually!
2. Go behind a table in the room with elemental in real time mode.
3. Cosplay Mongolian archer around the table until elemental is dead.
They fall down just as well as anyone else.
I assume benny hill music is mandatory?
For damage, Lann should be spamming his ki powers. Also, if he doesn't have a composite longbow yet, get one. Meaning, go explore things more until you get him one. That extra strength damage is critical. If you have a potion of cat's grace, it will help him tremendously.
Depending on your MC, they can get in there, too, and even Camellia, but the key is to make sure they are not being targeted. The elemental uses cleave. If it doesn't land a hit, it doesn't get the extra attack(s).
Sadly, this is one of those fights where your MC is important. You have only 4 characters, maybe an animal companion. Or more than one if you've been getting jiggy with the multiclassing. Your party just might not be built for this fight especially if your main is not a damage dealer
And to an extent, with how powerful the elemental is, you're going to need a little RNG luck. RAW, that thing is meant to be a challenge for a 5th level party of four, and they're throwing it at a 2nd level party.
